Over thirty years, under a variety of names, this threesome has quietly become the best organ trio around.  No one claims the role of leader because, as Jazz Times puts it, this is “that rare unit in which each player, while being an excellent soloist, is equally influential in shaping a performance’s direction.” While they know their organ-trio tradition as well as anyone, theirs is low-key and sneaky, not loud and greasy, and it “excels at the art of the slow burn.”
