Mission & Values
Our Mission Statement
North Coast Co-op is a member-owned organization guided by the cooperative principles. As a leader in our community we emphasize a diverse selection of products, while engaging members through consumer education, community building, and environmental responsibility.
Cooperatives are based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. In the tradition of their founders, cooperative members believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others.
North Coast Co-op is a democratically-owned grocer that adheres to the international cooperative values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity, as well as the seven international cooperative principles. We believe issues surrounding race fall well within our cooperative values and principles. In July, 2017 our Board of Directors adopted a Racial Equity Statement to reinforce the Co-op's commitment to racial equality.
Purchasing & Merchandising Policies
As a core part of its commitment to fiscal, environmental, and social responsibility, the North Coast Co-op strives to carry products which are environmentally sound and socially responsible, which support our local community and economy, and which meet the needs of our members, as stated in our Purchasing & Merchandising Policies.
