37th annual Northcoast Environmental Center (NEC) Coastal Cleanup Day and 32nd annual California Coastal Cleanup day is Saturday, September 17, 2016.
With humble beginnings here in Humboldt County as a program of the NEC, Coastal Cleanup Day is now celebrated worldwide and is the single largest volunteer event in support of the marine environment. Last year, over 500 Humboldt County Coastal Cleanup volunteers removed over seven tons of trash and recyclables from our beaches, rivers, bay and estuaries.
In cooperation with the California Coastal Commission and Ocean Conservancy, the NEC will again coordinate at least 40 cleanups throughout Humboldt County.
Become involved by being a site captain, join a team, sponsorship or help spread the word! Not only is the Co-op a sponsor of the NEC Coastal Cleanup Day we're also a Coastal Cleanup team.
