Black Bean Brownies Course: Desserts
Diet: Vegetarian, Dairy Free, Vegan

These brownies are equal parts healthy as they are yummy, and are conveniently made in your blender!


  • 1 15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed very well
  • 2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ½ cup quick oats
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup to ⅔ cup chocolate chips (save a few to sprinkle on top)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. 

  2. Combine all ingredients except chips in a good food processor or blender and blend until smooth. 

  3. Stir in the chips and then pour into a greased 8x8 pan. 

  4. Bake 15-18 minutes and allow to cool for at least 10 minutes.
