Kale and Strawberry Salad

The chive dressing in this simple salad creates a memorable, go-to dish.

Ingredients
- 1 cup loosely packed basil leaves
- ½ cup roughly chopped chives
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- Juice and zest of one lemon
- Fresh ground black pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups lacinato kale, stems removed, leaves rolled and sliced thinly on the diagonal
- 2 cups sliced strawberries

Make the chive dressing: In a food processor, pulse the basil, chives, olive oil, lemon juice, and lemon zest until emulsified. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the salad: In a large bowl, mix the kale with the dressing until well coated. Gently fold in the strawberries. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
