Arcata Grand Reopening & Samplefest
Recap
On Saturday November 5, we celebrated completion of the Arcata
remodel with a Grand Reopening & Samplefest. There was an
astounding turnout by the community. Even in the early morning
rain people lined up around the building in hopes of being one of
the first 50 through the door to receive a gift bag full of goodies. The
Arcata Chamber of Commerce supported the event by leading a
ribbon cutting ceremony where General Manager Sean Nolan spoke
of his gratitude for the community and shared some of the updates
to the store, including a new hot bar, and . the newly revamped indoor
seating area, now known as the “greenhouse.”
Those in attendance could enter raffles with prizes worth over $500,
and did we mention samples? In addition to the many in-house
Co-op samples that included sausages, cheese and bakery items,
vendors such as Arise Bakery and Cypress Grove were also toasting
bread and slinging cheese into the hearts of the community. And
for those who didn’t get their fill on samples, the popular Pineapple
Express food truck from Garberville was stationed in the parking lot
to top folks off.
Overall, it was a day of gratitude, community and good food. The
Co-op thanks everyone who participated and helped us celebrate
this exciting occasion.
