Cooperative Community Fund Grant Program and Committee Opportunities
The Co-op invites tax-exempt, local nonprofit organizations (or organizations fiscally sponsored by one) and/or public schools
located in Humboldt County to apply to its Cooperative Community Fund grant program.
This year there is $22,000 available for grants ranging $500-$3,000.
Funds will be granted to projects that address at least one of the following:
•Sustainability – recycling, alternative transportation, etc.
•Community Development – healthcare, social services, diversity, equity & inclusion, etc.
•Food Security & Education – sustainable agriculture, local food economy, food nutrition and education etc.
•Cooperatives – co-op organizations, co-op development, coop education, etc.
The Co-ops Cooperative Community Fund (CCF) was started in 1999 and has since granted over $540,000 to support groups working to improve the community. At its inception it was said that “money shall be raised, and the Foundation administered so that every Co-op member and donor feels proud, effective, and special. Money shall be distributed in a fashion to create goodwill throughout our community.”

We want to ensure that the original intentions remain strong; that members and donors feel proud and effective in administering CCF Funds. This is why each year we encourage Co-op members to apply to volunteer on the CCF Grant Committee. Serving on the committee is a great way to get a glimpse of the great work local organizations are involved with in our community, while playing a part in funding the projects you think will have the biggest impact.
The CCF Grant committee reviews grant applications and makes recommendations of who to fund. Last year the Co-op received 25 grant applications and the committee chose to award over $20,000 to 10 great community projects. This year there is $22,000 available for grants ranging from $500 to $3,000.
Applications for Cooperative Community Fund grants are available online or can be picked up at the Arcata and Eureka Co-op customer service desks. Applications are being accepted through March 24, 2023. For more information and to download the application go to:
