Co-op Pumpkin Patch
The students who attended this year’s Co-op Pumpkin Patch had the opportunity to experience a real working farm and get a peek into our local food system. The quinoa and potato harvest was in full swing during our field trips, and attendees learned about the process while being thoroughly impressed by the size of the harvest.
We achieved our goal of widening outreach by inviting all programs under the Humboldt County Office of Education, creating a more inclusive experience for students. Many elementary and middle schools participated, along with a few lucky high schoolers too!
The field trips were both sun-filled and rain-filled, but most importantly, they were tons of fun. Our sincere thanks go out to everyone who helped cover the cost of this amazing program. If you rounded up in June, that means you!
We are deeply grateful for the support we receive from the community, Co-op staff at every level, our dependable farmer at Wild Rose Farm, and our amazingly dedicated Co-op tour leaders.
