Coats for the Cold
The grassroots community project 'Coats for the Cold' collects donations of winter clothes and gives them to families who otherwise could not afford them.
Since then, Robert Lohn’s spur of the moment decision has expanded to include schools, businesses, organizations and individuals across Humboldt County united behind the cause of getting coats to those in need.
The drive is being set up now to try and take advantage of winter clearance sales, volunteers with the project say things like new coats are a big help and mean a lot for the children who receive them.
The donation boxes have been set up at different locations from McKinleyville to Southern Humboldt, including the Arcata and Eureka Co-op locations.
